Archibald McDonald of Keppoch
My transcription of this scottish slow air from John Cunningham. I have it in the album "25 Years of Celtic Music".
6th bar is played like |f3ga2| the first time only.

That would be the 5th bar actually. The pickup doesn't count as a bar.
Nice tune though. I'll go over it later when I get some time.

Mmm... I actually meant the 6th bar though. I didn't explain it very well, I meant the 6th bar that is |f3ed2| is played by John Cunningham like |f3ga2| the first time, when he starts the tune, but not anymore.
And I agree with Davesim this tune is lovely.

I've recently acquired a three row Paolo Soprani B/C/C# and this is a delight to play on it. Thanks Pere for putting it here.

And by the way this is of course played much slower than the midi.

Yes! it's a matter of course with me. When I see a dotted quaver starting a triplet I seem to have a natural inclination to play it slow.
In fact I rarely listen to the midi.

Just realised, no dotted quaver & no triplet. Of course I refer to the dotted crotchet at the beginning of the bar. The snatch at the start of bars 7(A) 7,10 & 15 (B) make for a super conrast.

Tony Elman plays this on'Swinging on the Gate' on hammered dulcimer. Reminds me of a visit to Asheville N.C.from UK. There was a power cut for 3 days - were we glad to be able to jam at night by candle light!
