"Edmund MacKenzie Of Plockton" ~ another by Andrew Rankine

Hey, I'm keeping up my side of the bargain for Andrew Rankine week. The week isn't out yet, but nothing from the lads, not Dow, not Geoff, not Kenny, Nigel or Noel... :-/

Yeah, but under the shadow of delusion... ;-)

I was just hoping there was more in you, and that you might want to make restitution? After all, you did that awful injustice to Andrew and our collective respect for him by giving someone else as the composer for his tune "The Corner House"...

"Edmund MacKenzie Of Plockton" ~ by Andrew Rankine ~ take in A

Here's a bit more fun with this one, and G & A are always interchangeable options. One of the markers of Andrew's compositions is the freedom and fun they allow for moving through variations, having fun with them dead easy and basic or having other fun with them rhythmically or melodically. Here are some other basic possibilities, in A ~

K: A Major

E2 G A2 c | e^de c3 | dcd B^AB | e^de c^Bc |
EFG ABc | e2 e cec | e^de =dcB | A3 A2 :|

f2 A d2 A | e2 A c2 A | Ee^d =dcB | A3- A3 :|

Edmund MacKenzie Of Plockton

ceolachan, could you tell us where you got your version?

I must say this is one of the few tunes I quite dislike, although I can see its value as a tune for new learners.
