I just played it as eminor tune - works fine - you're sure about the Emajor with the 4 #??

Works fine in E major too though.

Hmm I heard it played in E but admit it's much easier to play (on fiddle, at least) in D. Not tried Em, I'll have a go!

Swissp - By E minor, do you mean just plain Aeolian mode, or do you mean with a few D-sharps (FE^DF E4 for example)?
Playing it in the minor makes it into a completely different tune.

Spoon, I just played it as written, but with one # only - so Aeolian is correct. And of course it is a quite different tune!
