I usually play the Gravel Walk after this tune...They sound pretty good together.

The version posted here would be cool on fiddle, but it's a bit awkward on flute or whistle. Here's a version for fluters.

This is the very first tune on the legendary recording "Molloy/Brady/Peoples," and as many point out, it's an easy substitute for a great fiddle tune Gravel Walks. Similar, but surprisingly easier.

Composer

Just a couple of weeks ago in Ennis I heard a rumour that a pair of Matt People's Reels were composed by Siobhan Peoples. Did anybody hear the same rumour?

Matt Peoples' reel composed by Siobhan Peoples?

In an interview published in spring 2004 in Fiddler Magazine
http://www.fiddle.com/issues/spr04.html#anchor1852610
Siobhan stated she was thirty-one years of age. This means she must be born around 1973.

Matt Peoples' reels on Molloy/Brady/Peoples were recorded in February 1977. Well, I know some musicians start early ...

Thanks for setting me straight. This reel is also on Cathal McConnell's first album "On Lough Erne's Shore," which was recorded in 1977. Tommy Peoples is cited as the source.
