Pip Murphy's
I came across this tune in a session where the late John Greene, a lovely Carlow fiddler used to play this after The Creel of Turf. I never got the name off him and he sadly passed away last autumn, 2006.
Then I came across same tune on a CD by Laurence Nugent where he has it as Pip Murphy's. I wouldn't know for certain but I'm guessing that perhaps this is harmonica player Pip Murphy, son of the late Phil Murphy who lives down in Carrick on Bannow in Wexford. See this link for info Phil Murphy http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/5121
I think this version is closer to John's as I learnt if from a session recording at the time.

Out with 'de boys
well, there you go. Thanks spoon and I did search a few phrases. Be interesting to know how Laurence managed to connect Pip Murphy with it.

I've never had much success with the 'advanced search' facility. There seems to be a very subtle art to using it effectively.

Local fiddler Kim Vincent played this tune at a small concert last night. I think he had it as one of Johnny Henry's.

It's related to the Ballybunion jig which is in the database (I put it in), but it's engaging in its own right and deserves to be displayed independently, IMO.
