Thanks A Million!
That's it - I only had a faint memory of it & assumed it was in D/Bm but Bb/Gm works well too. I think I'll learn it in both keys as it's a killer tune & D/Bm would be a little more session friendly.

It's "King's Fancy" with no "The". King is the surname of the composer.

Interesting...
So who was "King", Dow" ? Hadn't noticed this before.
# Posted on July 19th 2008 by Kenny
From Fiddler's Companion: "Composed by the late Liam King, a piano player who lived in Belfast and Dublin".
I'd be happy to go with that unless someone could prove otherwise...

Thanks..
OK by me - any idea when that would have been ?

The Flying Crowbar
Sorry if this isn't 100% - this is my first go at transcribing.
This is my go at the jig on youtube played by Mairéad Corridan and Evelyn Healy

NOTE: TheCurvyFiddle's transcript was originally without the lead-ins (|: e |\) and had that e instead as part of the final bars of both the A & B parts of the tune ~ d2e :|

"Blue Angel" / "King's Fancy-Favorite-Favourite" ~ another take
We first learned this one from musicians in New England, the Northeast of the U.S.A., and later we also heard it and played it on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada... Here are some of the ways we eventually played this one, basics ~
X: 7
T: Blue Angel
C: Liam King
M: 6/8
L: 1/8
R: jig
K: Dmaj
|: A |\

TheCurvyFiddle transcript above, I forgot to eliminate that repeat sign in the B-part when adding the lead-in...

"Blue Angel" / "King's Fancy-Favorite-Favourite" ~ remembering more ways

|: c |\
fdB B^AB | fdB B2 d | c^AF FGF | fgf edc |
fdB B^AB | fdB BB/c/d | c2 F gfe | dB^A B2 :|
But, if changing to a tune we sometimes played with this one in a set, the B-part again, but with a second ending:
|: c |\
fdB B^AB | fdB B2 d | c^AF FGF | f2 f edc |
fdB B2 B | fdB BB/c/d |[1 c2 F gfe | dB^A B2 :|[2 fgf edc | dfe dcB |]
into "Cape Breton's Own"
