Yes it it different

This is the second tune played on Frankie Goes to Town on the track called "Paddy canny's Toast" and follows the tune previously posted on the Session under the title Paddy Canny's Toast. There is some similarlty but they are different. Dont know why musicians seem to give tracks one title when there are obviously more than one tune on it.

Paddy Canny's Toast

Donnchad, if you have the track listing for "Frankie Goes To Town", could you submit it to the "recordings" section?

Two Slices of Toast

I believe the liner notes to "Frankie Goes to Town " state that the first reel (composed by Charlie Lennon, properly titled "Paddy Canny's Toast) and the second reel (this one here, composed by Frankie Gavin, title I do not know) pay a collective musical tribute to Paddy Canny, a fiddler from Co Clare. Hence their similarity.

B part seems like it was lifted from the B part of "Rat in the Kitchen"...

Two tunes with one title

Charlie Lennon "endeavored to capture a little of Clare in a slow reel" and dedicated it to Paddy. He showed it to Frankie Gavin and Frankie wrote a tune to complement the first.
At a concert Charlie suggested "A Tribute to Paddy Canny but Frankie said "Let's call them Paddy Canny's Toast" and so they were named."
Thus the tunes share a title, as a suite. I play the first in Am, which much more flute friendly than he signature key of Gm.
