Inspiration for this transcription and choice of variations ~ French-Canadian accordion players Alfred Montmarquette & Philippe Bruneau. Bruneau originally learned this tune from a 78 rpm recording of Montmarquette...as I did originally...and both swing it...

I like this tune! Somehow, I have hard time to understand (and play) the 10th and 11th measures (on the original posting). I cannot hear this variation on Montmarquette recording. Any advices or sources where I can hear it?

Oh, I see, you mean recordings of the variations... Sorry, I'd invite you over but I think there's a problem of distance... I will look at those measures again though...
A-part, bars 10 & 11 & options:

you could just play it basically the same as measures 2 & 3:

I only did it 'longhand', in other words without the repeats, so as to show other options... There are other things that could also be done within the basic definition of those two measures, as with the 'Comments' transcription:

I'll play around with it a bit more and see what else I can offer you on those two measures...

Thanks ceolachan, I can play this variation but there is just a little twist that I am missing and can't get from the midi. It is just the feeling of moving that quarter note from the E in the 10th measure to the c in the 11th measure. You show me how to properly play it when I meet you! Probably not tomorrow!
