Marches as Dance Music ~
I know I'm repeating myself, but some may have missed it or forgotten?
YES!!! ~ marches were also danced to, used for sets (quadrilles & country dances) and for couple dances... Some notations are scattered about here on site. Links to these can be found in my details. I have slowed down on the dance notations but will be adding more in future. If any are confusing, just ask and I'll do my damnedest to try to make sense of them for you. It is dance music and my greatest joy is when the two come together in 'mutual' respect and appreciation. I just hope that more people can discover that integral part of tradition ~ sans the politics and B.S...

That is also why duple marches sit comfortably under the heading 'barndances', because the couple dance forms for this family share much in common...

Sadly, it turns out Jeremy had other ideas and the very different version of the march in G Major was deleted from the ABCs and not processed into sheetmusic... I guess he decided it wasn't significantly different. If I'd known I would have put the A Major version, which is not that different from the book, here in the 'Comments' and the G Major would have been my main contribution. There is no way to judge whim. Here is the G Major version:
