Does anyone know the name of this tune??
No Dow, before you ask, this is not one of my compositions.
It's Scottish, I think.

It should be played pretty slowly.

Pretty slowly
Better than ugly fast!

WHAT does Gan Ainm mean?
No name, or what?
# Posted on December 30th 2006 by borchorst
It means "Google search" in the Irish language.
# Posted on December 30th 2006 by Dow
It means "without a name".

Gan Ainm
'Gan'- is the irish word for 'any'
'Ainm'- Is the irish word for 'Name'
Literally it means "any name". but when used as a title for a tune it mean the person who added dosen't have a notion what on earth you call it!
any way..... on to the tune....
ITs nice and i like it....
difficult to get the time right at the beginning.... but as you say, if its played slower it's bound to be easier.

Rhythm
The rhythm is normal at the beginning. As in 123-456 as opposed to 12-34-56, if ya know what i mean.

i know what you mean but its really tempting for a whistle player to essential take it in 3/4 as such....
if you know what i mean...
it maybe just sounds strange cos the octave leaps are difficult to get used to
