The Trip We Took Over The Mountain
What a beautiful little waltz!
This is the Séamus Ennis setting from the album Bonny Bunch of Roses, track 14, with the title "Will You Come With Me Over The Mountain". Ennis plays the parts ABABBA', where A' is the second half of the A part.
Here is the equally lovely Téada setting, from Give Us A Penny and Let Us Be Gone, track 10, played by Paul Finn on concertina:

The Trip We Took Over The Mountain - Recorded by General Humbert
This tune was recorded with slight differences by General Humbert, an Irish group of the 80s that made at least a couple of good albums (I don't know if they are still extant).
The real General Humbert was a French commander who landed a force in the West of Ireland during the Napoleonic wars. They re-embarked fairly soon. A statue of him stands in, I think, Westport, Co. Mayo.
I think their version went something like this:
T:The Trip Over The Mountain
R:Waltz
L:1/8
M:3/4
