"Croeso’r Wraig Tŷ" = "The Housewife's Welcome" ~ alright, what else???

Welcome back Dafydd, but let's not revert to your old form. What about this jig? Where or who did you get it from and is this how you play it? :-)

Yes, I know the tune... I'd prefer to wait till you've added more before I add another transcript here...

Page 30, tune #58 ~ "Croesawiad Gwraig y Tŷ" / "The Housewife's Welcome"

? ~ croesawiad ~ ?

Current Welsh usage would have it as "Croeso’r Wraig Tŷ"

Croeso = welcome ~ "croy - sorrre"
'r = contracted 'yr' = the ~ "croy - so'rre'"
Wraig = mutation of 'gwraig' = wife ~ "oo - rrrye - g"
Tŷ = wife ~ "tee"

gwraig tŷ = housewife = (more formally) gwraig y tŷ

Croeso’r Wraig Tŷ ~ "Croy - sorre oo - rye - g tee"
( ~ Wraig Y Tŷ ~ "~ oo - rye - g uh tee")

I honestly can't remember where I learnt it.I've never really been an archivist.I transcribed many tunes in my younger days,but I didn't take any notes.

I play it fairly slowly by the way,in a set with Hafoty Dafydd Owen.
