Seamus Connolly's

This tune was composed by Sean Ryan and appears in his book, The Hidden Ireland. I wouldn't normally post a tune available in a book like that, but in this case I'm actually referencing a video (produced for TG4) I came across Last night on the YouTube site of the tune played beautifully on fiddle and accordion by a couple of youngsters in Clare, Tara & Edward Breen. I think they're around 10 years old in the video. If you haven't seen it yourself... here it is.

This provides a good opportunity to hear the tune played beautifully as well as making us all feel like we started playing ITM way too late in life. ;-)

"The Hidden Ireland:

The First Selection of Irish Traditonal Composition of Séan Ryan"
Compiled by Brian Ryan
~ around 80 tunes and still in print last time I checked...

It's a sweet tune... Thanks for the reminder. I think I can say WE highly recommend this collection...

C, is that the Royal 'WE' or are you just referring to you and your S.O.
Sean Ryan's tunes really rock!

Rock and Roll Donough... 'WE' is definitely more than one, and I can see you've just counted yourself in ~ but my S.O. fancies the man's talents too and likes to swing to his beat...

Same name, different tune

The tune posted here is different from the Seamus Connolly's jig played on the Kevin Griffin album. A good transcript can be found on the JC site here:
