Interesting title

Can you tell us more about this tune? It's not a bad little tune... I notice it begins with the "high" part first and reminds me of some American tunes... any history behind it... did you write it?

Shetland

All i really know about this tune is that it is from Shetland, I don't know who wrote it, but i found it in the music book "Da Mirrie Dancers" put together by Tom Anderson and a Georgeson man. I like this tune, so I thought I would add it. I will fin dout more about it though.

Some brief notes from ibiblio.org

MY WIFE’S A DRUNKARD. Shetland, Reel. A Mixolydian. Standard. AABB. Source for notated version: Arthur Peterson (Shetland) [Anderson & Georgeson]. Anderson & Georgeson (Da Mirrie Dancers), 1970; pg. 24.

I found the tune a while back on Chris Hoseasons' site (I put a link to it on this site but it seems to be undergoing redesign at the moment)
