The Dawn Chorus (jig)
This is another lovely composition by Charlie Lennon, learned from Angelina and Peter Carberry's banjo and box duet playing. They actually recorded it in F before O'Sullivan's March in the same key, but I suspect it's originally in G. Could you inform which key Teada or Johnny Connoly recorded it in?

It's a lovely tune alright and Angelina Carberry's duet with Peter is fantastic. I love that album!

Teada
teada plays this tune in A, which is such a bright key and it sounds so pretty. For flute and whistle players, it can be difficult because theyre are a lot of G sharps, but I tried out a version with no G sharps that sounds good if you have other people playing to back you up. Its like good harmony. Teada also has a very different setting than what's written here, but I like both!

Woooooah, two different settings indeed! I wonder where Teada got their setting from.. Or maybe I should ask which one is closer to Charlie Lennon's actual setting of the tune?
Nevertheless- GORGEOUS tune. So beautiful.
Cheers,
Armand

The Dawn Chorus (jig)
I asked Martin Quinn about the tunings used on Angelina's album; he said tracks recorded with Peter Carberry are tuned a tone down so I guess whilst the recording is in F, it is the G setting as you've written it that she is playing. A fantastic tune whatever the key anyway.
