Vincent McGrath Composition
This is another tune composed by Vincent McGrath, the accordion player from Rossport. Information on the sleeve notes say:
"This was written in memory of local man, Sean McDonnell, from Cornhill, a great lover of Irish music, who died in 1998. Sean was of a gentle disposition and would only approach the musicians towards the end of the night and then, almost apologetically, would ask for a particular tune. Musicians need discerning listeners like Sean McDonnell".
I have to admit that I didn't like this tune the first time I heard it on Vincent album but when I decided to learn it, I found its a really nice tune to play and it grew on me so I think its another good composition of his. It's fairly to play on banjo and a good lively tune too.
