Hanter Dro ~ more of the madness
Just one more, a particular favourite I was reacquainted with when digging through the notes, and I thought some of you might like it too... I promise, no more for awhile. I'll set the Breton stuff aside and see if I've any Irish tunes that haven't found their way here, in whole or in a particular variation...

I love hanter dros for teaching, among the first dance tunes, also because some never go beyond a few notes limited within a single octave. There is also a meditative quality to them, that need to carry a steady and defined beat for the dancers/singers, the one melody repeating... These limitations allow for other focus, eventually variation and ornamentation, and if blessed with a group class ~ ensemble playing and the want and hope for developing musicians to appreciate being 'in tune' and 'in synch' with each other. Always the ideal though is to eventually do as the music is intended to do, lay a solid foundation for dancers...whenever and wherever possible.
