In Memory of Coleman
This is the Ed Reavy tune as played by Paddy Cronin - a little bit simplified but with the important basic trebbles. The very interesting alternating douple stops in the B-part are something to be worked out individually ;o)

Two little mistakes....
sorry, I´m not yet used to ABC. There is a "c" instead of "C" in bar #1 and a "gg" instead of "bb" in bar #4 (I corrected the ABC notation).

As played by the Kane Sisters
Here's how Liz and Yvonne Kane play this on their cd, The Well Tempered Bow:
X: 1
T: In Memory of Coleman
M: 4/4
L: 1/8
K: G dor
| DGBd c/d/c/B GF | D~F3 GFDF | GABc dfga | (3bag af dg{a}ga |

| B2 fB FBfB | DBfB A~F3 | GABc dgag | fdcA B2 AF ||
If you're wanting a simpler setting, take out some of the ornaments:
A Part
1st bar | DGBd cBGF |
the (3bag triplets can be played just "bg"
7th bar | FGBd cABc
B Part
3rd bar |dfga fdcA |
It's also common to play bars 5 and 6 staying on the low F, instead of dropping down to the open D: |B2 fB FBfB | FBfB A~F3 |

B part for Memories of Micheal Coleman?!
help me! I have a complete mental block about the B part of Memories of Micheal Coleman- I've got the A part, and I don't read music. could anyone help jog my memory and give me the fingerings (first finger on the e, second finger on the d, whatever) of maybe the first couple bars of the B part???
I love that tune and it's really been bothering me that I absolutely cannot remember the b part...
Thank ya'll SO much!!!

Re: B part for Memories of Micheal Coleman?!
Go to the tune page here and download the MIDI file:
http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/619
For a simpler setting, go to JC's Tunefinder here:
http://ecf-guest.mit.edu/~jc/cgi/abc/tunefind
Do a lookup of "In Memory of Coleman", then download one of the MIDI versions. MIDI is sometimes hard to follow, but may be enough to jog your memory.

About the name
Is it a tribute to Coleman or Morrison then? How confusing...

Does anyone know a good tune to follow in memory of coleman?
I am looking for a lively reel to follow the reel In memory of coleman. Preferably a following tune in A major. Thanks!

Re: Does anyone know a good tune to follow in memory of coleman?
I see you already have Boys of Malin in your tunebook...a lively one to be sure in A major
Also The High Reel and High Road to Linton are also lively A major reels...

Re: Does anyone know a good tune to follow in memory of coleman?
G minor to A - pretty harsh I think.
G major, B flat, F might be nicer.

I like to precede it with the Commodore.
