Anon
I thought it sounded familiar and have found a version amongst my very early hand writen collection of tunes. As far as my notes tell me I have it as a Northumbrian slip jigs ( if there really are such things). I have no name for it, hence 'Anon', I only have it in three parts. Will post my ABC's later, probably tomorrow.

"Taflwn Yr Hosan" ~ 2 x's in 2 different keys
Apologies, I got drawn away before I added the explanation that this is just two takes of the same tune but in two keys, the first take and first two parts are in G Major, the second take and the 3rd and 4th parts are the same 'basic' tune in D Major...
This melody was played in Eire, Scotland, England, Cymru / Wales ~ and all over North America... And it has been collected and printed in collections that found root in all of these geographic climes...
I look forward to seeing your 4-parter Hetty...

"We With Fun the Stocking Throw" ~ 1700's
This is an old name for it. I'll have to check my sources. I think it is in one of the old Riley flute collections from the 1800's, but I'm sure I've seen it pop up back as far as the 18th Century, but I'll see if I can find something to verify that...

"Taflwn yr Hosan" / "We With Fun the Stocking Throw" K: D Major
An early source for Cymru / Wales is to be found in Mary Richard's (1787 - 1877) collection in the National Library of Wales, part of which was reissued in the A5 collection above...

The closest similarity is obviously with the 'A' music but to submit it as a tune in its own right would probably have avoided making the connection.

Hetty, that tune is Jockey Lay Up In The Hayloft http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/1470. Thanks for the 4 part version!

Jockey Lay Up...
In looking up 'Jockey...' I see that Robert Bewicks version notated there is almost identical with mine. Thanks for the tile and the link, I hate having tunes without names.
