I posted this tune because I'm trying to track down it's origins. I learned it from a friend who got it from Caulfield of the Mild Colonial Boys (from California or Oregon?). Anyway, we call it Caulfield's, because we didn't have the name of the tune. Does anyone know it by another name?

I can't help with information about this waltz but I reall y like it ... so thanks for posting it. It reminded me of the Sallymony Waltz as I hummed it through. I think that you'll find that the end of the first part needs a little doctoring as there appears to be an extra bar there (seventeen instead of sixteen bars).

A link with Neil Gows Lament??
There is a great feelig of similarity between the 'B' music here and the 'B' music of 'Niel Gow's lamant for his second wife' I have Neil Gows in 'G' but the link comes across quite well.

The 'B' music continues but this is the snippet that comes to my mind as having a structural similarity. There are some triplet lead-ins which I have left out on purpose.
