I first learnt this lovely tune from a Beginish recording called Stormy Weather. I got caught of the extremely lively version they produce and fell in love with Paul McGrattan flute phrases. Enjoy.

There is a lovely version of this tune on the "Fort of Kincora" album by box player Martin Connolly. Even if you don't like accordions you would like this album.
This tune also appears on "The Natural Bridge" by Ben Lennon and Friends, a fine album of music in the Sligo/Leitrim style harking back to the 1920s.

The second tune of the same is the Flowers of Red Mill. The two tunes were first recorded together in 1920's or 1930's by John McKenna, if I'm not mistaken. Not to mention, McKenna was a fluter from Co. Leitrim.

The Bollywood

So I was watching a Bollywood movie called Aaja Nachle a while back and during one of the scenes suddenly realized there was a random tune thrown into the song. No one believed me but I found the soundtrack and wrote down the ABC and learned the tune. I always solo it at sessions introducing it as 'The Bollywood', but finally I came upon a session and someone else started the tune. Flabberghasted, I asked the name and it was Touch Me If you Dare. But it's too late to correct everyone I told about 'The Bollywood.'

I'm dying to know how the producers of this movie came across and decided to use the tune. Anyone speak Hindi and want to email someone to find out? Hahaha!
