Sometime ago someone had contacted me for this tune, having found another here using the name that wasn't the one they sought. I hope this is it. I don't remember who it was as at the time I was in a steam over a couple of contributions having gotten the axe for various reasons, none having been duplications of anything. Hopefully this will survive. I did an initial search using multiple keys including ABC's in the 'Advanced' and did not find it. It is a sweet tune, one of those 'trad' types with a lot of agreement, including the second ending of the B-part which returns to that of the A. It brings me joy and I hope it will for others, including that person who first was asking about it ages back...

Well, the immediate reaction would be as you'd expect, guilt... I had looked up the title and played through the contribution but I didn't look at the other versions in the comments. Yes, your later contributions in the comment make the connection. But, it may still have enough difference to warrant it's own entry. If it goes bye bye, well, so be it. I should have checked the comments, but ~ just maybe?
I had tried searches with different keys previously, but it didn't make any connection, but that is because your entry is different enough and not just in being in another key... The 'comments' don't figure in an ABC search...
Thanks for the direction... BOO HOO!!! ( I've never thought that was a very good representation of crying ones eyes out... )

But will it work? It still sounds might familiar and I couldn't find it anywhere on site, trying three different keys and several measure in each. What's killing me is that I'm sure I even played this one in Cape Breton under some other name... Now I am fretting aren't I...

Damn, I knew I'd been here before ~ the A-parts of these two tunes. It has been driving me nuts and I've been playing over every Cape Breton tune I could remember, and some I thought I'd forgotten, and there's also 3-parter that bears some similarities, but the one that stood out was Mike MacDougall's jig for his wife Peggy.
