Caitriona's Fancy
A composition of flute player Peter O'Leary, who came to our session during his visit to Sydney. He said it was written for his daughter. It's one of those hypnotic jigs that sticks in your head and won't go away. I've had it playing in my head for 12 hours since I got up this morning, and I can't get rid of it! I took down the tune on the back of a beermat after I'd had rather a lot to drink during the session, thinking "I HAVE to learn that tune", and put it in the left pocket of my trousers, along with another beermat which had nothing written on it (don't ask my why I took that). Then I went out till 5am and drank even more so I don't remember what happened after that. And then when I put my trousers in the wash this morning only one of the beer mats was there, and of course it was the blank one. Fortunately I still had the tune going round in my head, so I made a note of it again. I hope it's correct and I haven't messed up. If so, I hope the composer will write in and I can correct it.
