Clergy's Lamentation - O'Carolan air
A beautiful air by O'Carolan. I transcribed this from Nollaig Casey's "The Music of What Happened." I just saw it listed on "The Art Of Turlough O'Carolan - Piano Arrangements Of The Famous Airs And Laments" by J.J. Sheridan and was surprised it wasn't already in the data base.

Quoting from Fiddler's Companion.
I have also seen the music elsewhere on the net attributed as Anon. Who knows?
"The tune is attributed to blind Irish harper Turlough "O'Carolan (1670-1738), though Donal O'Sullivan, in his definitive work on the bard could find no incontrovertable evidence of its origin.
