I heard this tune on Chris Norman's track from Wooden Flute Obsession Volume Two, second disk, and it's cracking good. It's pretty clearly a Scottish pipe tune, but works well on a flute or fiddle. This setting comes from "The McDonald Collection," whatever that is. (At least, according to the note scrawled on top of my 8th generation photocopy!)

I think 'The MacDonald Collection' is one by Patrick MacDonald from around 1760, brother to Joseph MacD who died young but left an unfinished treatise on pipe music of great interest to students of piping.
