Robb's Reel
A joint composition by Ros Gasson and myself (Drew Mitchell) on the occassion of Da Hooley Ceilidh Band's 10th birthday. We had a big, charity-fundraising party with all the family and friends of the band from the past 10 years. In all, we raised over £1,000 for St Columba's Hospice. As part of the fundraising we auctioned a selection of band "memorabilia" including this tune. The successful bidders were Karen and Norman Robb, who bought the right to name the tune. Thanks folks.
As regards playing, we tend to play the B part with the accents on quavers 1, 4, 7, 10 over the first two bars for a (very light) jig rhythm. Also the G leading into the B part is played "mezzo staccato" (if I've got my terminology correct!).
Enjoy. Any feedback welcome.
