Anna-Wendy's Jig
I believe this is one of Simon Bradley's tunes written for Anna-Wendy Stephenson.
I learned it last summer at a session in Sandy Bell's Pub (Edinburgh) from the playing of Damian Helliwell (mandolin) and Kathryn Nicoll (fiddle).
This is a fairly malleable tune, open to lots of variation. I tried to get the version here as basic as possible, distilled by my own listening of the minidisc recording. If anyone knows Simon's version please post it.

Ah...I think I hear Audrey playing bodhran in the background, so it was probably a Friday night. She's a lovely old lady that comes every Friday night.
Is this the Michael originally from Leeds that sometimes weilds a Overton low C whistle?

Sorry, it seems I was wrong. There are young folks playing fiddle and mandolin on Tuesday, but I can't remember their names. I met many people called Kathryn, Damian, and Michael in different places, and all mixed up. Good tune, by the way.

Ah ha. I think I met Audrey a couple of times when I was back in Bell's, a few years back.
|f it's the same lady then she is indeed very friendly & charming & just the sort of person every session should have.
Does she, or didn't she, play a strange kind of a snare drum head as a bodhran?
Last time I saw her, she said she had just ordered a real bodhran though.
I wonder, did she ever get it?

She was an all around session percussionist making rhythm noises with all kinds of things in addition to the bodhran. ; )
