Flowers of Antrim
Tola Custy has a slightly different version of this that I learned off of the recording he made with Cyril O'Donoghue called, "Setting Free." The title he gives it is, "The Flowers of Antrim."

I was going to learn and post this tune! Mike Rafferty recorded it as The Shaskeen on "The Road from Ballinakill." I heard it on a rather old tape recording of The Leeds Ceili Band too.

I heard Mick, Louise and Michelle Mulcahy also play this jig as The Shaskeen on Culan some months ago. I can't understand what Robbie Hannon says, but he mentions Eddie Moloney, possibly as the source of the tune.

"From the playing of Joe Cooley"
I transcribed this from the playing of Joe Cooley. I had a tape given to me several years ago with few details on it. I've done an advanced search but cannot find it in the session archives. Can anyone put a name to it. I'm considering putting it as the lead tune in a set with Garrett Barry's and Morrisons. Any thoughts and comments gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

A great jig Hetty - are there any more unusual tunes on that Joe Cooley tape? Unfortunately, there's very little recorded music by Joe in existence.

"The Shaskeen"
I know this as the Shaskeen (http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/5197) from the playing of Mike Rafferty.

Great tune though it's a duplicated post. It seems J. Cooley and Mike Rafferty are both from East Galway.

I would have thought that the advanced search would have uncovered this as the Shaskeen however thanks for that and yes there are some more worthwhile tunes on my cassette which I will look at and submit if not already here.

"Josie's Visit by Brendan Tonra"
This is a composition of Mayo fiddler Brendan Tonra, a long-time resident of Boston, Mass. It's often called after the Shaskeen band, but Brendan's own name, commemorating Josie McDermott's 1980s trip to the US I believe, was "Josie's Visit." It was published in his collection "A Musical Voyage with Brendan Tonra."
