What does that mean exactly, "under copyright"? What restrictions does that place on it. Can we not learn it and play it in public? Will we have to pay for it if we put it on our own recordings? I know of few composers of Irish tunes that even concern themselves with any of that. Most just want to be given credit for writing the tune. Is the composer of this waltz worried that it will be recorded by Dolly Parton or U2 or something?

What it means is that we now have the name of the person who can answer these questions about this particular tune should we wish to know. Being recorded twice by Sharon Shannon is probably bringing in a few euro.
