Maybe this is a slightly different version of Going to Donnybrook: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/735

Played in A in Scotland
This tune is popular within the Scottish repertoire too but is usually played in A. The version I know has slight differences in the first half(second part is much the same).
1st, 2nd and 3rd bars G2G(A2A) BAG(CBA)
and Bar 6 DBG(ECA) G3(A3)
Of course, musicians who play Irish music in Scotland will probably play it as written here.

I first learned this tune from the late Alan Cormack, in Bristol. It's a great tune for teaching Flute and Whistle students who want to work on "G" rolls!

Go raibh ma'agat Mark ~ much appreciated
I was sure I recognized this, and I guess I would have on several counts, including Joe Hutton. I should have waited another day before posting it.
Good luck in Canberra!

"The Pet Of The Pipers" / "Kip's" ~ at least 3 ways I've known it
No wonder this melody was frustrating me and driving my loopy ~ Joe Hutton & Cape Breton too! ~ Alex Francis MacKay, Natalie & Buddy MacMaster, & I'm pretty sure this was also one we used to play for dance there...
Here are some interesting similarities I found while trying to chase up this before posting "Kip's" ~
The tune as Hugh Gillespie played it, as a whole and both parts for it individually, rang bells of familiarity with other tunes I've played over time. The most obvious, that came to me as I was playing this, I kept slipping into that B-part in between nodding off, and sharaing the A-part ~

Thanks to help from Dow and slainte, here is another tune sainte/Hiro directed me to on site here that it is obviously related by both parts, and close enough that I consider just adding this to the 'comments' for that ~

I thought on this for awhile, before submitting it, and then decided, still being frustrated with searching, to query a couple of members, as said, Dow and slainte. I'd send Dow both parts of the Gillespie transcription, both keys, but just the B-part to slainte. I did make several attempts myself to chase up connections, wanting to avoid what felt to be a duplicaation, but I'm not in much of a fit state at the moment for anything. I'm glad of friends who can steer me right... Thanks, much appreciated...
