This tune was composed by Cape Breton fiddler Howie McDonald and given to Gabriel McKeon by Kieran O'Hare, an Uilleann Piper from Kansas City.

This one's been getting a lot of play time at a session around my way. Probably because one of the session leaders was a former pupil of Kieran's, who by the way is from Chicago now if I'm not mistaken.

McKeon's recording is dated 1997, so has Kieran moved to Chicago since then?

I'm pretty certain he has. If you watch "Road to Perdition", a movie set in Chicago that came out within the last few years, there is a scene where an Irish band plays (at a wake I believe), and Kieran is part of that crew (along with John Williams and other Chicago-ans that I'm not familiar with).
