Belfast Slide
This is the first of 2 slides I'll post played by a band from Belfast called "Curlew". They appeared live on a BBC Scotland "Travelling Folk" programme, I think it must have been sometime in the 1980s. Certainly Trevor Stewart was the piper, and I think Davy Maguire may have been the flute player. I know nothing about this tune at all, [ except that it's a good 'un ] and have yet to find anyone else who knows it. Anyone here have any ideas ?

Thanks for the tune but more especially the comment / history / source ~ much appreciated. I've just been making a quick check of my notes and other sources as well as wracking my misfiring brain cells and sadly can't give you a name. I'll keep looking but I don't recognize this particular tune even a smidgin, other than the 'bits' that make it up...but I'm not familiar with the band either. It will be interesting to see if anyone else can come up with information on this tune...

I remember Curlew.I have a cassette of them,I'll dig it out of the debris in my music room and see if this tune is on there.

Wrong "Curlew"
Don't think these guys recorded. You're thinking about the Shetland fiddler Davy Tulloch, Veronique Nelson and Dave Jackson, and they didn't play slides. Different "Curlew".

Curlew did record,they were an Irish band.Their album used to be in Antwerp city library.
