This is a Northumbrian Slip Jig I first heard it played by Kathyrn Tickell.

The 1st bit of the B-part usually goes g|fef gdB G2... to the G instead of the A. I think this might be due to a transcription error in the Minstrelsy but not sure.

Yes Dow you are right, 'B' music bar 1 is as you say, bar 2 is as transcribed here.

The tune can be found along with many other goodies in 'The Northumbrian Piper's Tunebook' published by the Northumbrian Piper's Society. i bought my copy in 1974. that together with the 'Charlton Memorial Tunebook' formed the backbone of available trad Northumbrian music in the British Isles in the 70's. I do not know if it is still available.
