Kilmoulis

From the mandolin playing of Claudine Langille, of the Irish-American band “Touchstone”. One of my favourite Irish jigs on whistle, but I’ve never heard it played anywhere other than by “Touchstone”. I no longer have the recording, so this is from memory alone. I seem to remember that it was composed by a whistle-player from Galway, but don’t recall the name. Can anyone help ?
A “Kilmoulis” is a supernatural beastie, a kind of sprite or “brownie”.
Claudine played some very nice variations the 2nd time through, but this is, I believe, the basic tune.

Composer

According to the Touchstone sleeve notes:

"The first tune (Kilmoulis Jig) was composed by Johnnie Mullin of Shantalla, Galway City. The title refers to a mythical creature with curly, pointed ears, a huge nose, and no mouth...."

Nice mandolin tune.
