I don't have a name for this tune but heard it on a Stockton's Wing album - I think the track name is The Golden Stud. The track begins with Maurice Lennon playing The Unfortunate Rake, followed by a spoken vocal merging into this tune. I'm not even certain it is a hornpipe. Does anyone know more about this one ? I searched the database and googled The Golden Stud but didn't get any more info. I also searched with various bars in ABC which didn't give any results either.

Golden Stud
The title of the tune is indeed "The Golden Stud", and I think is more a slowish reel than hornpipe. It was composed by either Maurice Lennon or Paul Roche [ not sure which ], in the early days of "Stockton's Wing" , and the name referred to somebody's ear-ring. This used to be the track where Steve Cooney played didgeridoo, starting with the jig you mention, going into this tune, and finishing with "The Morning Dew". Clever stuff, and this tune still occasionally turns up in sessions.

TITLE
"stoneboy" - would you like to change the title from "Gan Ainm" to "The Golden Stud", please ? Too many "Gan Ainm"s here already.

TITLE
Consider it done, Kenny. Is the general feeling that I should also change it to a reel ?

Golden Stud
Very timely,
I was searching for this just last week as a mate was playing a jig he called the Golden Stud. I followed the comment back to the jig in the set and seems though as he was playing Up Sligo or the Unfortunate Rake and got the titles confused!!
