A new tune from Eliot Grasso (written 6/22/05) for his fiancee Kate, who misses her hometown in the Pacific Northwest.

Eliot prefers the tune in Gdor ("I think it has more character"), but has also provided the following setting.

Eliot, by the way, is Our Emily's cousin.

Brides said she was going to text you. Didn't she, then? Anyway, I'll go see if she's up yet and tell her to call you.

We didn't all learn the tune -- Conan did, but Cleek stole my fiddle by accident (I am playing around on the changeling octave fiddle he left in it's place), so I was forced to ask Eliot to jot it down for me until I can get to my fiddle again in the Catskills...

Have I mentioned how sleep deprived I am? ;)

No no, if she's in bed let her sleep - she'll be knackered. If she wants to ring, tell her to ring tomorrow (my time) because I have a day off. She did e-mail so it's ok. I was a bit worried for a while that she might have got caught up in the London thing.

Su and Jeff stopped in Erie PA last night, they said, and we're looking forward to seeing them in E. Durham today. I think I'm going to go and get dressed and then make some eggs for the household. I'll see if I can't get Brides online here before we take off and lose all internet access.

SLEEP DEPRAVED ~ YAAHRGH!!!

I so desperately need sleep... So, there's a party going on ~ in the real world and in the digital one, and Zina is in a mode kissing everyone in a desperate search for her fiddle and Mark/Dow has come out of the closet to tell us all she's really ~ what's the female equivalent for 'Mark'? ~ Marta? Hey! We're at the Apple store and Brides is buying a new iBook! What fun! Emily says hi. Jason and Conan are ignoring us. And I just discovered Happy Bunny. This is turning into a great trip. All of which has nothing to do with Eliot's tune, which is GREAT! ;)

We are all having SUCH a good time!!!! Except Jason, b/c we should have left for the Catskills 2 hours ago LOL

I haven't learned the tune yet b/c it's such a fiddle tune & it really lacks something on flute when you change the key.

This is hilarious! We're all standing around an island in the Mac store, reading and posting at TheSession, in the tunes sections. Go figure. OK. We're getting out of here!

OK here's a funny story. Zina & I & Jason all were expecting Conán & Bridie at 7:30pm on Friday night coming in from Ireland to BWI, but somehow none us remembered which airline or originating city, but we figured we'd figure it out when we got there. So basically we 3 go the the international arrival terminal around 6:30pm, brought out the instruments & played tunes for a good 90 minutes until we realized they never came out of the gate. Jason was teaching us Salute to Baltimore, so we were playing it over & over for like the Iceland Air passengers, Air New Zealand etc, ppl are videotaping us etc... So finally Zina realizes they must have arrived in Boston & changed planes! So we had to page overhead in the terminal, & they never got the Salute to Baltimore welcome we planned... Ah well, it's been great craic anyway, Laura Byrne's CD release party Friday night, house session last night, now we are on the road the Catskills!!!!!!! OK Bridie's done buying her iBook, so see y'all later!!!!!
