From Kerr's Merry Melodies. The C in bar 7 should be an octave higher,I've corrected the ABC.

Dafydd - Ble mae'r hanes, y cyd-destun? ~ Os gwelwch yn dda, plis?
Dafydd, are you just ABC-ing every tune collection in your possession, or is this really your personal way with this tune? Do you just pull them out of books, if so, which ones? Or is there a session and friends you play with and pick up these tunes from, so tell us the name of the pub and give us some atmosphere. Or is it a massive recording empire you live in and maneuver around and you meticulously slow down every your 'favourites' and ABC them to share with us all here? Or are they just more tunes, not necessarily ones you like, but you like to ABC things and then place them somewhere to refer back to later?
And then there's you own compositions ~ which I've had occassion to visit and have given them the courtesy of play ~ but there's "No comments have been posted yet", well, if anything it is equivalent, something along the lines of "one of mine." HUH? Is that all you feel about your progeny? Is there no provenance here either, like "I got p*ssed, threw a pint glass into the mirror behind the bar and soon found myself flying outdoors and landing flat on my face blowing bubbles in a puddle of my own sick, and suddenly the bubbles made notes and I was inspired to stay where I was gurgling to the end of this lovely tune, 'The shattered mirror'" ~ anything, hell, lie, just give us some context and content and not just the f'n dots, well, ABCs, dots courtesy of Mr. Wizard...
Yellow Brick Road anyone, I'll be Toto, so I don't have to sing...

Wow! You must have been picking up the vibes, good ones I promise, just slightly empty when I come to something without any 'offering' from the provider of the ABCs. So, do you play this with your mates? Do you particularly like it? Is it note for note from "Merry Melodies"? That's OK, honestly. Do you play it note for note or do you have your own swing for it? Do you play it in a particular set?
A friend, promise! - fi, 'c' bach

Is it just coincidence that Dafydd posted this tune today, of all days, or was some homage intended?

He has the heart for the latter... But it would be nice in his words...

Hey 'c', come to think of it, I often find myself wishing that you would elaborate. I've never known anyone so shy and wordless.

I play it in a set with a Welsh tune,"The Glamorganshire Hornpipe",which you can find here.

It was just a coincidence.

Diolch yn fawr iawn ~
Nice one Dafydd ~ making some kind of connection...
This tune, "The London Hornpipe", did seem to arrive on site early here, before the explosions in London... I was playing through this when the awful news reached me... Is this a set you share in a local session there?

I sometimes play it at a monthly session that attend here in Flanders, but the others haven't picked it up yet.

Homage intended ~ "The London Hornpipe"
Here's a bit of my playing for London, a different take on the one given here, hopefully carrying the humour that is at the heart of that city, and a moment of silence too, a 'pause' to reflect before continuing on despite what bastards can do to us out of their confusion and anger. I felt it right to save this till later, like now. Playing it did seem to exorcise demons and to bring out all the craze stuff about one of the world's best cities, and from me ~ someone who prefers wilderness areas and hates asphalt and finds it damn hard to breathe there on a hot summer's day ~ and yet, I still love London... (& for balance, I love Paris too...
