Can also be played in A-minor. Very nice on fiddle in this key.

Armand got this from me, and I got it from....
I learned this tune at the Durham Irish Arts Week one summer from Patti Furlong in a beginner accordion class and fell in love with it. She was not sure of the name, and in addition to Gan Ainm, rattled off a few names that might be right. I think that Galway Belle was one of those names, but I am not sure. Anyhow, because of the fact that I like to play it a lot, people in my neighborhood are beginning to learn it, and apply the name I use for it, appropriate or not.

Jerry O'Brien collection
"Galway Belle" was the name for this tune in the tunebook published by Jerry O'Brien, the button accordionist who taught Joe Derrane, in the late 1940s.

Nice tune. I've learned it for a fiddle workshop this coming year.
