Slängpols från Torp
I first learned this, if memory serves me right, straight, but with the snaps. I later picked it up again from another source and and we tended to swing it, so both are given here. We also played a second part but I couldn't find my notes for that. The one given here is my own half-baked concoction, so apologies for any weirdness. If anything doesn't work it is my fault, not any of my various sources. The order of the notation here is - straight, swung, second part on its own, both parts together.
I suspect, as different ways with it were coming out of my playing, that some of the melody has likely undergone change with age. If I find the missing music and it is significantly different I will add that here in the comments, including any accompanying second part...
This was one of the earliest of this sort of tunes I learned to dance this to. There are several types of dances by this name. My least favourite of the lot was very exhibitionist, where the gent is supposed to show off doing various acrobatic moves to 'impress' his partner in between a repeating body that they both do equally. Personally, I prefer the versions where the dancing is equal, though I've known some women who could do the acrobatic stuff a lot better than I was able to. I've danced both roles...
If anyone recognizes this and has a different take on it I'd love to see it added here...for my memory's sake. If I find a composer for this I will definitely add that here...

Here are related ways I sometimes find myself swinging this one, with the emphasis on 1 & 3 but the bars moved one beat on in the first example. (*= the 'less than' symbol, a 'snap'. The 'less than' symbol is read as an HTML tag in this area, wiping out all that follows it up to the next '>') 1/4 = 135-145 bpm, with or without the '>', but generally not as far swung as the midi tends to take it...:
