It's a pity we are not allowed to change the sheetmusic.

I've heard this tune played at our session a few times and always wondered what it was.

Recorded as the 'Callan Lasses' on Peg McGrath etc Cherish the Ladies. Not though the same tune that's in O'Neill's under that name.

Maire O'Keeffe

Maire O'Keeffe recorded this on her Gael LInn CD "An Coisir." She sourced it to the late Dessie Donnelly of Fintona, Co. Tyrone (uncle of Dezi Donnelly of Manchester) and so called it the Fintona Reel. Definitely a northern tune.

Donnelly's/Callan Lasses

I transcribed the version played at our session. It's a lot different to Liz Doherty's version given here, and I think it hangs together better. The parts are the other way round and its phrases are much more standard and straightforward sounding, e.g. |Addc defg| instead of |BAdc defg|. My session pals say they think they probably got it from the Cherish The Ladies recording, so 1st track, "Callan Lasses".
