Origins
I learnt this tune from the playing of Natalie MacMaster, on disk 1 of her 'Live' Cd. Please Post the composer's name if you know it!

C section
I've heard/used slightly different notes in the C/D section many times.

Play in G on Flute
Anyone tried playing this in G on the flute? A is Ok, but in G it fits the scale of the (keyless) flute a bit better. No one around here plays it anyway, so the problem of playing it with others probably won't arise. Although I suppose I should learn it in both keys - it's not the sort of tune I can transpose on the fly.
In G, I get to use my nice low D a bit more, and don't have to go over the high D - which is already one tone more than most of my session companions like to play up to.
