Help - I'm a bit confused by this one!
Is this a jig (implied by the title and 6/8 time) with 2 beats/bar and emphasis on 1st and 4th quaver? I'm a bit thrown by the way it's written out in the sheet music, which looks like 3/4 time
Any comment welcome, as I'd like to give it an airing at our weekly folk club meet here in Yorkshire

Hanter Dro - no Jig
I did not know how to define the hanter Dro rythm in the rythms offered by Jeremy.
The best way to desribe the meter is
2/4 + 1/4
But that's not compatible with the abc conventions.
My own version is at

Hanter Dro ~ 3/4 previous, here follows the 3/2
That previous transcript ended up being M:3/4~L:1/8 not 3/2 as intended, my goof. I feel, as a dancer and a musician, that the treble, '3', and not waltz time or '6', somehow fits the dancing and the tune the hanter-dro best... Some other transcriptions I've seen of this form have had it as 6/8, like here, 6/4, as well as the curious combination of 4/4+2/4, as if it were mixed meter, which in the case of Hanter-Dro/An-Dro tunes/dances it is (= mixing treble with duple time, but not in the same vein as Sweifacher, definitely not the waltz and the polka...)

A hanter dro from the Vannetaise region in Brittany. There is another hanter dro to go with this one, which I will post tomorrow.
Moving so slowly...
I can't remember where I got this one from, but Storvan play a version of it on their first album, Digor'n Abadenn. Most likely we brought this as a souvenir from Lorient.

A 'BOGOF'! ~ Buy One Get One Free!, and, fair play, as swisspiper / Slainte play it on the link given above, first one for a few times and then the other ~ and...
Thanks for that links, appreciated...
