Stiff in the Morning

Composed, if that's the right word, in March 2005.
I was trying to play Mom's Jig (by Jerry Holland), for which see
http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/2877
I started changing some of the notes and ended up emerging from a kind of hypnotic state an hour later with a completely different tune.
I play it on the Mandolin and tend to slide into the beginnings of phrases and bend the chords slightly. I not entirely happy with the way it ends so would welcome any suggestions.
The title is capable of various interpretations :)

Slainte.

AKA "Morning Wood"?

Very Good!

Not bad, hey , a tune that is barely a week old is already known by two different names :)

Or if you want to be a bit more subtle, what about "The Wood In The Morning" :-D

Nice tune and it's not a hard on--oops meant to say hard *one* to learn. ;-)

Imagine if I'd written it as a hornpipe!

:)

And yet another name

If I'm not mistaken, this is the "tune" my wife refers to as "Waking O'Toole." ;-)

Blencathra: The real story here!

'Stiff on the morning' actually describes my relationship with Blencathra. If anybody is wondering who Blencathra is ;-) , then the truth is that Blencathra is mountain in Cumbria! The first title I gave this jig has a deliberate element of ambiguity - which has led to a bit of fun.
