Sporting Paddy

This tune is also played on Cormac Breatnachs whistle album "Musical Journey" A great album for Low whistle enthusiasts.

...And it's also played by John Whelan, in button accordion. He adds to it "John Dwyer's" and "Galtee Rangers".

Donogh Hennessy's arrangement

Does anyone know the chords Donogh uses on this tune? It's teamed with Rathlin Island on The Kinnitty Sessions. He also played it on Sharon Shannon's Each Little Thing album--done a few years earlier.

I love the chord progressions--I just can't figure out what they are. Any clues would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks
Gena

The liner notes on "Each Little Thing" indicate that Sharon Shannon herself play the whistle on this tune.

There's a different version of this on Altan's "Blackwater", which came from John Doherty:

Isn't the second part almost exactly like Spoil The Dance?

Yeah. It's just obvious, so nobody mentions that.
