I submit this lovely old tune in polite response to the comments my posting of "Shields Fair" and "Wideopen Lasses" garnered recently.
The Lowland Scottish town of Dunse is famous for having given us the word "dunse" meaning a dullard. This tune is the melody of their town fight song, however, and means Dunse beats or bashes all comers.
I noticed that the meter for reels here is listed as 4/4. I believe thought it is 2/2, isn't it?
This version is from Kerr's Collection. It's undoubtedly published in atleast one of Matt Seattle's books as well.

The town is known as Duns now; the spelling was officially changed in 1882. My cousin used to run one of the pubs in Duns, and was well-known not only for participating in bar brawls in his own pub, but also for actually starting them
For more info on the origins of the word "dunce", see http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/duns/duns.

BTW any chance of getting sheetmusic & midi for this one? It's already been swamped under a pile of new tunes which have already been converted...
