I heard this tune on Cherish the Ladies' old album. It's followed by the Maids of Ardagh polka.

Dear Liza? There's a Hole in my Bucket - it's the same tune. That explains whay I found it so easy to learn years ago.

I have a sudden urge to arrange Jamaica Farewell and The Banana Boat Song as reels.
With luck it will go away after a good sleep.

Dear lisa jig
I first heard this jig being played many years ago, in a ceili bands competition at a fleadh ceoil by the lough derg ceili band.it is a tune composed by the Galway flute player Vincent Broderick.

Dear Lisa
I don't think this is V. Broderick's original composition because a different version of the tune appears in O'Neill's. Broderick often takes some phrases from traditional tunes when composing a new tune: The Tinker's Daughter is obviously based on The Green Mountain.
