Highland I got from a fiddle teacher when I started. He used to do double stops in the first part, like this:
[A,2F2][A,F][A,D] [G,G][G,A][G,G][G,D] | [A,2F2][A,F][A,F] [A,G][A,E][CE][A,E] | [A,2F2][A,F][A,D] [G,2G2]FG | Addc dBAG |
[A,2F2][A,F][A,D] [G,G][G,A][G,G][G,D] | [A,2F2][A,F][A,F] [A,G][A,E][CE][A,E] | [A,2F2][A,F][A,D] [G,2G2]FG | Addc dfed ||
Doing that makes it very fun to play.

But it's impossible to read... Oh, well, you get the point, I guess.

"Mick Carr's Highland Fling"
Here's my take on this, but trying to keep close to the contribution here, in two keys and with more of the classic 2-bar second ending for the B-Part, which helps the dance in it. The asterisks used for 'alternative' places for a 'snap' are just that, possibilities, and asterisks because, as some of you will know, the less-than sign does funny things in this area of the site... Here's the take, simple and in an alternate key:

John Barron's Highland
Paul O'Shaughnessy and Harry Bradley recorded a fantastic version of this tune. It goes like this:
