Grandpa Tommy's Ceili Band

Composed by Martin Mulhaire. Transcribed from a session recording.

I have it slightly differently:

M: C|
L: 1/8
K: G
GB~B2 dB~B2|GABG ABGE|DEGA Bd~d2|eaaf gedB|
GB~B2 dB~B2|GABG ABGE|DEGA Bgfg|ecAF G4:|
|:~g3a gfed|Bd~d2 Bdef|g2af gfed|eaag ea~a2|
~g3a gfed|Bd~d2 gdBd|~c3B cBAG|FGAF G4:|

This is not a transcription of any particular performance, just how it sounds in my head. However, I think I first heard it on a record of the Mulhaire Ceili Band, so it is probably close to the version on there.

Here's the way I play it that differs a bit here and there. It's based on what Gerry Harrington and Eoghan O'Sullivan play on their first recording before Smokey Chimney called, "Scéal Eile."

Oh bugger! Cross post. Looks like yours is very close to mine Goat.

Jack - It's the minute differences that make this music so appealing.

# Posted on February 2nd 2005 by CreadurMawnOrganig

That would be true if it weren't for the fact that most of my contributions are minute errors.

It's the minute errors that make it a living tradition.

Another variation.

I learnt this tune off Chris Droney. This tune goes really well after The Green Gates.

A nice flick to do on the concertina regards this tune is to flick off on the high f

in the second line of the turn.

Hope ye like it.
