I use the "snap" in this piece too, but the 'lesser than' sign causes problems. I've replaced in the past with '*', an asterisk, but in the above tune I am not consistant about where I put that "snap", well, not 100%. Find your own places, that's part of the fun. The dance the fling actually has step variations in it that look something akin to chickens scratching at the ground...
