John J Kimmel's Favourite

Transcribed (hopefully accurately) from Disk 2, Across the Waters: Irish Traditional Music from England http://www.thesession.org/recordings/display.php/843
Note, the abc I posted has alternate endings like this:
[1,3 and [2,4
Hopefully Whatever Jeremy uses to make the sheet music can handle that. I use abcm2ps, and it works, but concertina.net's tune-o-tron converter can't handle it. If it comes out bad, I'll resubmit.

Kimmel's, now rewritten

Well, tune-o-tron didn't complain, but if you look carefully, the alternate endings didn't get handle properly. I have since rewritten it as a true hornpipe, with only first and second endings, so anything should be able to handle it well.

All those NOTES. I feel...ill...
I impressed with your transcribing tenacity, Fyffer.

Use the abc, not the sheet music

After my original posting of the tune, I decided to rework it from a 12/8 to a 4/4 hornpipe. There should be no difference in the sound, but from a music-reading POV, the current should be better. Jeremy informed me that once the sheet music is generated, that's that, so do your own if you want the probably correct hornpipe, 4/4 version.

This is actually three different tunes played with the parts mixed up. The second and third parts are the Cliff Hornpipe. This is on Paul Brock and Enda Scahill's album "Humdinger" where it is called "Medley of Clogs".

1st part iz mazurka in dizguize? not unlike some Continental / Parizian muzette number?
9th line has a nice run in it; a slide in the making?
